We are encouraging you to become a Canvas Observer so you can see assignments given digitally in your scholar's classes. Additionally, Canvas is the primary method of communication for grade level announcements and as a Canvas observer you can see important announcements and deadlines posted for your scholar in their Class of 2024, Class of 2025, Class of 2026, or Class of 2027 Canvas Page. The information to set up your Canvas Observer account with assistance from your scholar is below. Once you set up your account, it will roll over from year to year, you will not need to set it up again in the future.

You'll need to download the Canvas Parent App on your phone. Parents can only access Canvas using the Canvas Parent App.
We are clayton.instructure.com when it asks for the system, that is what you need to use.
To Generate a Pairing Code from a computer or browser
If your student is on a computer, follow these four (4) steps to generate a pairing code:
-First your child needs to click on “Account”
-Then, click on “Settings”.
-Click on “Pair with Observer”
-A pairing code is generated, codes expire in 7 days if not used
To Generate a Pairing Code from an ipad or Smartphone
-On the Dashboard, tap the Menu icon (three lines, upper left hand corner)
-The tap the Settings link
-Tap Pair with Observer
-A pairing code will be generated, codes expire in 7 days if not used.
Each student can have up to three Canvas Observers, each parent/guardian will need their own account
